R472B – the refrigerant gas with the lower GWP ever
Ideal for most test standards used by testing laboratories around the world, R472B has only 526 GWP, which is about 96% less than R23.
R23 has a GWP value far above the level imposed by the EU F-gas regulation in force since 1 January 2015. The use of this gas is only allowed under the quota system, as an exception to the regulation, because there is no - or rather, there was no - alternative that could meet all the requirements. R23 will in any case be subject to a further drastic reduction from 2030 onwards.
As the result of constant research, ACS's R472B gas has a GWP value of 526 compared to R23's 14800: it combines the desire to reach extreme temperatures with our climatic chambers with the need to preserve the planet from global warming. It is also safe (already ASHRAE-certified), compatible with conventional refrigeration components and allows superior performance to R23 for the most common applications.
